Motivf is looking for candidates who sleep better while they are traveling. We’re looking for a few more observant vagabonds.
Your Responsibilities:
To effectively gather the correct information for the client, you’ll deploy a blend of your existing knowledge in field data collection tools and technologies and the training we provide.
Identify the highest value tasks and prioritize the order in which you should complete them.
Quickly and independently execute your tasks, including simple maths and measurements.
Ask the right questions to find the right supporting information to accomplish your tasks. This may include historical maps, land records, PDFs, napkin sketches, previous survey results, and land title information.
Speak with site managers and team leads to verify existing information.
Investigate discrepancies between known and missing spatial information while on site.
Deliver hand-crafted data in the formats requested.
Explain what you have worked on and the steps you took to accomplish it.
Required Qualifications:
Must possess a valid US Driver’s License.
Comfortable with frequent travelling on short notice.
Stellar verbal and written communication skills.
Responsive to messages delivered through Slack, email, text, and phone calls.
Prepared to work outdoors under variable weather, environmental, and facility conditions.
Physical capacity to remain standing throughout the day, traverse staircases and ladders, walk 5-12 miles a day, and lift about fifty pounds safely.
Once introduced to field equipment best practices, ability to troubleshoot malfunctioning and self-instruct optimal usage under variable working conditions. This includes seeking and interpreting technical documentation or instructional material with minimal assistance.
Upon completion of training, ability to execute basic field and facility survey methodologies.
Preferred but Learnable Skills:
Comfortable identifying typical commercial mechanical, electric and plumbing systems.
Ability to operate Global Positioning System (GPS) hardware under variable environmental and atmospheric conditions.
Ability to collect and interpret Ground-Penetrating Radar (GPR) readouts.
Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) fundamentals.
Ability to read and interpret maps, at times containing inaccurate or incomplete information.
Ability to pilot Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) hardware safely.
Ability to render field sketches and measurements into Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) products.
