GIS Program Director

Job Summary: Motivf is seeking a highly experienced and motivated GIS Program Director to lead and manage a GIS program under the Navy GIS. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of GIS technology and its applications within an enterprise environment. The GIS Program Director will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of GIS initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Navy's strategic objectives and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a GIS program, ensuring high-quality service delivery and operational excellence.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for GIS initiatives, aligning with the Navy’s goals and objectives.

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the enterprise GIS infrastructure.

  • Ensure data integrity, quality control, and proper documentation of GIS data and processes.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to GIS staff and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with various departments to identify and address GIS needs and challenges.

  • Manage GIS projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management.

  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of GIS systems to ensure optimal performance and security.

  • Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including CSWF compliance if system access is required.

  • Develop and deliver training programs for GIS staff and end-users.

  • Represent the GIS program in meetings, presentations, and discussions with senior leadership and external partners.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in GIS or a related field.

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience supporting an Enterprise GIS.

  • GIS Professional Certification is highly desired.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing GIS programs or projects.

  • Strong understanding of GIS technology, applications, and best practices.

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards related to GIS and data management.

  • CSWF Compliance (if system access is required).
