GIS Solutions Engineer

Motivf is seeking a highly motivated and experienced GIS Solutions Engineer to join our team for an innovative project with the Navy GIS. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in GIS solutions engineering, with expertise in Esri Portal and data workflows. The candidate must also be CSWF compliant and hold a favorable T3 Investigation. Preference will be given to candidates with a GIS Professional Certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement GIS solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of the Navy GIS project.

  • Manage and optimize Esri Portal and data workflows to ensure efficient data access and usage.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into effective GIS solutions.

  • Develop and maintain GIS applications, tools, and services to support project objectives.

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security within the GIS environment.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to GIS applications and data workflows.

  • Provide technical support and training to end-users and team members.

  • Document GIS processes, workflows, and solutions to maintain comprehensive project records.

  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in GIS technology to continually improve the project’s capabilities.

  • Assist in the development of GIS strategies and roadmaps to achieve long-term project goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Over 5 years of experience in GIS solutions engineering, with a strong focus on Esri Portal and data workflows.

  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing GIS solutions using Esri technology.

  • Favorable T3 Investigation and CSWF compliance.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex GIS issues.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and stakeholders.

  • GIS Professional Certification (preferred).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working on GIS projects within the defense or federal sector.

  • Familiarity with Navy GIS standards and protocols.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or SQL for automating workflows and data manipulation.

  • Knowledge of GIS data management best practices and standards.
